Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American singer-dancer and actress. In her early Broadway role, she was in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. in You Can't Take It With You in which she was awarded the Tony Award as Best Featured actor in an Play. Annaleigh Ashley Tony Award winning actor and actress has collaborated with directors, actors, and other performers on stage and screen for her entire career. Ashford's next venture will be a limited edition Hulu series titled Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show debuts on November 22 and Ashford stars opposite Kumail Najiani. Ashford is currently working on the film for Searchlight Pictures' terror thriller Dust which also features Sarah Paulson. It's also available in the form of an Hulu Original on Disney DTC. Ashford is scheduled to return to Broadway in March 2023, with the role of Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production takes place in the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. This show will be led by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team who brought you Hamilton. Ashford most recently starred Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment that is based upon the nation's crisis, which swept across the country. Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters in the country's first impeachment trial in more than one century. She was also the lead in two seasons of CBS Comedy B Positive. The show was created by Chuck Lorre with Marco Pennette. The show featured Linda Lavin as well as Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen. Ashford is no stranger to Broadway. Her portrayal of Essie in You Can't Take It with You won her the Tony Drama Desk Awards and Outer Critics Circle Awards. Sunday in the Park with George Wicked legally blonde and the character that was originally played by Lauren of Kinky Boots were among her other Broadway roles. Ashford was raised and born in Denver and now divides her time between Los Angeles, and New York.
